You can prevent tarnishing by wearing your silver jewellery often, as the oils in your skin help clean the silver. Avoid exposure to household chemicals, sweat, chlorinated water, and substances containing sulfur (e.g., mayonnaise, eggs, mustard). Additionally, remove your jewellery before sunbathing or swimming.

Yes, you can use homemade solutions such as: Baking Soda and Water: Make a paste and use a cloth to apply it. Olive Oil and Lemon Juice: Mix 1/2 cup lemon juice with 1 tsp olive oil and use a cloth. White Vinegar and Baking Soda: Soak the jewellery in a solution of 1/2 cup vinegar and 2 tbsp baking soda. Baking Soda, Salt, Aluminum Foil, and Boiling Water: Use a chemical reaction to clean tarnish.

To maintain your gold-plated jewellery, avoid spraying perfumes or other sprays while wearing it. Ensure lotions or creams are absorbed before wearing. Remove the jewellery when exercising, doing heavy work, or swimming to avoid tarnish from sweat and chemicals.

To avoid scratches, wrap your jewellery in a soft cloth after cleaning or store it in a jewellery box separate from other types. Use small zip-lock bags for storage and keep different metals separate to prevent tarnishing. Store in a dry area.
